Daniel Man, M.D., Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
Named “Humanitarian of the Year,” by Palm Beach County Victim Services, Dr. Man is a board-certified plastic surgeon in private practice in Boca Raton, FL. A noted author, artist, inventor, and educator, he holds the title of Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Inc., and is a Fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Born in Israel, Dr. Man served as Physician Lieutenant In the Israeli Army. After, he attended Tel Aviv University, earning his medical degree in 1973. He then completed his internship at Tel Hashomer Hospital, Ramat Gan, Israel from 1972-1973.
In 1973, Dr. Man came to the United States to continue his medical training, first at Montefiore Hospital in New York, where he served a general surgery residency from 1974-1976, then Wilmington General Medical Center from 1976-1978. Dr. Man served his plastic surgery residence at the University of Louisville from 1978-1980, where he was also awarded a hand surgery fellowship with Dr. Harold Kleinert, and a fellowship in microsurgery with Dr. Robert Acland.
During his years of training, he developed an improved method of connecting blood vessels under the microscope. He also designed, and later patented, an implantable homing device, which he developed in order to locate missing children, Alzheimer’s patients, Diplomates and Foreign Dignitaries working overseas.
Dr. Man’s trademarks include: the Vertical Bed (more commonly called ART Bed), Body Glue and minimally invasive Spacelift, a technique that enhances facelift surgery providing a more natural looking appearance.
Called “The Renaissance Man” by Plastic Surgery Products Magazine, his contributions to cosmetic surgery have been published worldwide in such prestigious medical journals as Plastic Surgery, the journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Inc. the international quarterly; Facial Plastic Surgery, published by Thieme Medical Publishers; and the Aesthetic Journal published by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He has contributed to numerous plastic surgery textbooks and is the author of three popular guidebooks to cosmetic surgery. Dr. Man has served as a sought after lecturer on University campuses and scientific medical conferences. His artwork has been featured on the covers of the Journal of Aesthetic Surgery, Journal of Plastic Surgery, and Reflections magazine. His painting, “The Handshake,” hung in the White House and is now archived in the Clinton Presidential Library.
A popular media personality, Dr. Man has appeared on local and national television programs, including CNN, Fox News, ABC Evening News, CBS4 News Miami, Geraldo, Discovery Channel Canada, the BBC, Global Health Network and Good Morning America. He has also been featured in popular magazines such as: Vogue, Allure, Marie Claire, Vanidades, South Florida, Boca Raton, Palm Beach Society, Ocean Drive and People. Today, he serves on the MLD Institute Int’l Advisory Board with a passion to educate professionals and the public about the importance of the lymphatic system and the role of Manual Lymphatic Drainage in medicine today.
Bart Rademaker, M.D., American Society of Plastic Surgeons Member, Latin & International Division
Dr. Rademaker is a European Hand Surgeon graduating from the United World College of the Atlantic in Wales and received his medical degree from Erasmus University Medical School of Rotterdam. He completed his training at the Mayo Clinic and Medical College of Wisconsin and speaks fluent English, Spanish, French and Dutch. The former Chief of Plastic Surgery of three Tampa Bay hospitals, Rademaker is also a regular Medical Advisor to news outlets. He has served on the Surgical Research Committee of the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Rademaker is a Nobel Peace Prize Nominee for his role in leading a relief mission to Sri Lanka, site of the devastating tsunami. He also serves as a Platinum Partner and crew member of the Anthony Robbins Organization. Dr. Rademaker’s Tampa-based, Beauty Integrity Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery Center hosts a variety of events ranging from educational events for cancer survivors to National Selphyl training of physicians and offers pre & post op Manual Lymph Drainage for optimum healing, & scar prevention management. As a patient himself, Dr. Rademaker utilizes MLD to maintain his legs during long hours in surgery.
Jassin Jouria, M.D., University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Department of Surgery MLD Research & Curriculum Development, Sports & Surgery
Dr. Jouria is a medical doctor, professor of academic medicine and medical author. He graduated from Ross University School of Medicine and has completed his clinical clerkship training in various teaching hospitals throughout New York, including King’s County Hospital Center and Brookdale Medical Center, among others. Dr. Jouria passed all USMLE medical board exams on first attempt, and has served as a test prep tutor and instructor for Kaplan. He currently writes medical board exam review questions for several test preparatory institutions. He has also developed several medical courses and curricula for a variety of education institutions. Dr. Jouria has served on multiple levels in the academic field including, faculty member and Department Chair. Dr. Jouria continues to serve as a Subject Matter Expert for several continuing education organizations covering multiple basic medical sciences. He has also developed several continuing medical education courses covering various topics in clinical medicine. Recently, he has been contracted by the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Department of Surgery to develop an e-module training series for trauma patient management. Passionate about health, Dr. Jouria has competed in semi-professional body building and is a product innovator and inventor to promote wellness.
Stephen Forbess, D.C., DABCN, CNN, Chiropractic & Nutrition Division
Dr. Forbess is a Board Licensed Chiropractic Physician earning his doctorate in Chiropractic at Life University in Marietta, Georgia. He has been in practice for over 27 years. He has been active with his local & state chiropractic associations. He was voted Chiropractor of the Year, and served as President of the Broward County Chiropractic Society. The happily married father of four is Chairman of the Massage Therapy Board of the Broward County Public Schools. Dr. Forbess is Certified for the Manipulation under Anesthesia procedure and in Whiplash Injuries. He has attended over 150 educational seminars in addition to being a foremost educator and seminar provider himself. He has earned a B.S. Degree in Nutrition Science, a Diplomate from the American Clinical Board of Nutrition (DACBN) and the American Chiropractic Board of Nutrition (DACBN). He also earned the Certified Clinical Nutrition (CCN) degree from the prestigious International Association of American Clinical Nutritionists. Forbess also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and is a member of the American Board of Clinical Nutrition, American Chiropractic Board of Nutrition (ACA), American Chiropractic Association, Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA), FCA Council on Orthopedics and the ACA Council on Nutrition.
George McDermott, Ph.d
Dr. George McDermott was raised in Southampton, N.Y. and educated at Pace University, NYU Graduate School, Tokyo Nippongo Daigaiuki and LaSalle University, works as a medical researcher, consultant, writer, publisher and conducts national seminars on the future of medicine and humanity.
Elisa Difalco, M.S., O.T., LMT
Inspired by her father’s love of science, Elisa attended university at home in Michiganuntil her NDE experience in 1987. After relocating to Florida with her family, she continued her studies receiving a B.A. Degree in Behavior Science from Lynn University in Boca Raton, an M.S. Degree in Occupational Therapy from Barry University in addition to Massage Therapy licensure.
She became a Certified Manual Lymph Drainage Specialist for the The “Pioneer of Lymphedema Treatment,” Surgeon Robert Lerner and a Certified Garment & Orthotic Fitter. There after, she filled the role of Clinic Director of Florida’s Lymphedema Treatment Services Clinic. LTS served as a model for later clinics by those who attended MLD Certification and had toured the site.
Elisa was LANA Certified, and her educational outreach has been felt through peer-reviewed research, published articles, support groups, National CEU courses in addition to radio, television and convention appearances over the last 15 years. She has also been a guest lecturer at leading universities and a sought after public speaker for cancer organizations, women in business and spiritual health endeavors.
Today, MLD Institute Int’l’s Founder serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of healthcare corporations, colleges and spas. She is a consultant to major insurance companies and surgeons specializing on the topic of Manual Lymph Drainage. The mother of two enjoys playing piano, martial arts, travel and continues doctoral studies.
Heather Millar, OTR/L, CLT
As an advisory board member and instructional assistant to the MLD institute, I have extensive experience with manual lymph drainage. I have treated multiple conditions, including sports injuries and plastic surgeries, using manual lymph drainage. Additionally, I have had clinical experience with world renowned lymphedema expert, Dr. Michael King.
